Yesterday I saw the Grand Canyon and walked its southern rim. Today I had a deeper - literally - experience with the big hole.
I descended 1.1 km into the Canyon, but still haven’t reached the bottom - needed another ~450m to touch the river. A companion from my party did reach the bottom (and returned on the same day). I however enjoyed the descent from 2200m asl, followed by a hike between 1100 and 1200m asl and finally the arduous ascent back to the rim.
