Ford Museum far away from Detroit. My Actifit Report Card: March 21 2024

The second round of @poliac 17 started yesterday. My first rematch was vs @manuvert. I had planned something special for the occasion.

There’s a private Ford Museum in my town. I had never visited it, thinking it wouldn’t be worth it. But since @manuvert is a resident of Michigan, where Ford story had started, I thought the Museum will be a fitting background for our @poliac duel. The entry is only $5, it opens only for 3 hours once per week, on Thursdays.

I was the only visitor so I was treated to a private tour by a passionate guide and owner of the collection. I had expected a handful of cars (a Ford Museum In a provincial town in Poland?) but I found there a superb collection of Ford N, R, S and of course T. Plus the late A and a replica of the early model A.

The Museum’s owners are a couple in their early 60s and they had travelled the width and length of the US to collect their Ford cars. Except of the oldest, all car in good shape and are actually registered vehicles - they can driven on public roads. Fantastic people with a passion.

My former company used to be headquartered in Detroit and I had visited the city every year between 2008 and the pandemic. It was great to exchange views and experiences with the Museum owners. Best of all - it’s in my town! I think I will be bringing friends there every Thursday.
