Over the past week I visited four Christian Orthodox wooden churches. All in small villages and all very humble. I had never seen a. Orthodox Church before. I noticed that all 4 temples were similarly constructed and all had similarities in the way the icons were painted. I have learnt that the Orthodox icons are not painted - they’re written. The idea was to convey the biblical message in a form understood by all.
