“Can’t save the Ocean but will help some fish” is my motto nowadays. Yesterday I moved a family of 6 (Mom, Grandma and 4 kids) from our church’s temporary shelter into their new home.
And what a home it was! A couple in their 50s let the displaced family use their summer house in mountains. But in reality it’s a fully fledged house, with 3 bedrooms. The owners will cover all upkeep costs and stocked food for two weeks. Wonderful people.
Long term (hate to write this - the aggression must be stopped and people should return to their true homes!) we will help the Mom to find a job, but realistically it will be difficult for her ti support the family. I am going to ask my work colleagues to help me in sort of “remote adoption” of this lovely family
