The sky was not blue when this shot was taken. Oftentimes in December and January, thick clouds come and go. Can be that the thick clouds might mean rain... It did not rain on this day. This scene is common here because I watch every day and see if I could get a good shot of the setting Sun. We can see in this image that the clouds were thick and dark. The parallel line of light was brought by the sunrays between the clouds and the Mediterranean Sea below. Then the scene is enhanced by the mountain on the right side where the sun descended.
