It was my first time going to visit an old friend of mine whom I was very close to when we went to same school, they had recently moved to a new apartment and she couldn't get off my neck about me visiting to see her family's new place so I decided to go on a clear day. I had everything planned, I was going to spend a night with her family so we could have time to catch up on old time.

On my way to the place she had described to me which was easy to know or so I thought, I called to tell her that I was almost at her place, she asked me to go inside the house that others with a few of her other relatives were inside the house to keep me company until she gets back from the market. I didn't had any issue with her for choosing that day to go to the market but I wish she didn't.

After the call ended, I walked into the estate she had explained so well for me and I boldly went into the house she had talked so much about, a grey painted house with a small garden beside it. I greeted the unfamiliar faces inside the house but sat down comfortably and they just kept looking at me while going about their activities.

I sat for a while, got up to their fridge, took some cold water and sat back to enjoy the Netflix movie they were seeing when I came in. It's funny how I didn't bother to ask about my friend's mum who was always excited to have me around, I bet I had concluded she walked minutes before I got there so I just relaxed myself and waiting for the familiar faces to arrive.

I waited for an hour and was feeling hungry when I decided to call and scold my friend for staying too long at the market. It turned out that my phone had been on silence mood and she had gave me about 10 missed calls. I called back immediately with a little fear in my mind as I was beginning to notice that I wasn't in the right house, the house I was in had a cat! Joyce's family hates cat πŸ˜‚

After the call, I understood why the unfamiliar faces had those looks on their faces but I was even more surprised that they didn't ask who I was or my purpose for visiting. I shamelessly told them I had been in the wrong house and asked them for Joyce's family house, they pointed it to me (it was right at the opposite).

The strange family explained that they were expecting a guest who they didn't know by facial appearance so they thought I was the one and I also told them that they seem like the relatives my friend talked about on phone. We all laughed about it, I asked for the title of the movie we were seeing and left their place to my friend's place.

Joyce couldn't stop laughing about the whole thing and she had been thinking I had missed my way (of course I did but not as dangerously as she had thought). We had a nice time together and I went back home still laughing at myself for my confidence in someone else's house.
