This question came to mind when I saw the edition topic, I've actually had a thought about this sometime ago but didn't go into much thought as I felt I didn't have much freedom to do whatever I wanted so there was no need to think I had too much freedom to be worried about.

Yes, one should be worried about having too much freedom because there are a lot of negatives with having too much freedom.

Freedom is being free from worries, having the liberty to not make choices or facing no difficulty in your living... It is excess freedom when you don't have to worry about what comes next, what your decision would cause or have no consideration for how others are being affected by your no actions. It's a good thing to be free but when your freedom begins to pose threats to your essence of living, it becomes dangerous.

It is too much freedom when you get too lazy

Being lazy is an evidence of freedom being wrongly used, becoming too lazy and no one to question it is freedom being too much. While it may have less effect on things to get done around, it will have more bad psychological effect on the person who is in this situation. One who is lazy is one who thinks there's nothing to do and that is because they refuse to think up something to do... They become brain dead to be creative.

They are only free to be free and that will result in them doing just those things that are not meant to be done at the wrong times. Not having enough on your plate aside being free will condition your mind to remain inactive. This is bad considering how the human brain is made to keep working for one to live long.

Too much freedom can lead to the soul's decay

It's a quote I came across and I couldn't agree more with it considering the first negative I shared about being too free. Imagine having your kids do whatever they like as far to the kind of friends they keep, the time they go to bed and the time they choose to study... Any of them could take a disadvantage to this and it will backfire to you by losing your peace of mind freedom later.

One can be free but not without a motivation to do something especially when it's urgent. Ignoring those little things to be done and making your mind stop thinking about things that should be thought about could lead to a decay that won't have a good result on your essence of living as a human.

Too much freedom can be avoided, avoid it

You can be free but be mindful of the extent you can go with that freedom as one could barely tell when freedom is the main cause of a problem. A free mind should be channeled to creativity, do the work and flee from laziness (what freedom tends to present as a plater of gold).

Even those who were in captivity had nothing like total freedom if not, they'd be slaves again to freedom. Be free but don't think or act too freely... Your words aren't free once they are out but your thoughts are free, know when to be careful with the freedom that you have.
