Today ,i want to introduce a leaf to each and every one of us.The name of the leaf is SAND PAPER LEAF ,the botanical name is ficus exasperata and the leaf is called Ewe Epin in yoruba.
Most people only know that sand paper leaf is for scrubing the back of pot and cooking utensils ,they didnt know some of the biochemical and medicinal advantage of the leaf.
But today, i want to share with us some of the things we hardly know about the leaf.
Sand paper leaf are use in traditional medicine due to the fact that they have flavonoid,sterols,phytochemical and alkaloids which have therapeutic properties like;
*vermifuge
*Analgesic
*Antioxidant
*Anti-inflammatory
*Abortifacient e.t.c
The leave are used for
*treatment of epilepsy
