Here I give you hints if you want to participate

Talking about routines is something like looking back to our childhood and observing our mothers in their routines at home, especially mine who worked as a housewife. I remember my dad worked in the oil companies and my mum's routine was very strong because she had to do my dad's take-away food, it wasn't nearby and those jobs were done in fields far away from the village.

By having that organisation of course we as children are being programmed to have something like a timetable to get things done, that the time will pay off and that the goals set will come to fruition.

I agree that routines are necessary in the sense that they carry or are laden with goals and activities that are imbued with emotions with the family turmoil and for everything to run smoothly each of the members must comply with their routines.

We carry this programming embedded in our neurons because it is the best way to maintain a rhythm in the processes, activities, schedules to be fulfilled, that is to say, it leads us to discipline and commitment... in school tasks as well as in home tasks to collaborate at home as we were being educated.

A programming that is not easy to unlearn, but one thing I am sure of is that these routines should not become monotonous, something like leaving the comfort zone... I say this because in these times many of us have understood, assimilated, put into practice by the amount of information that reaches us that leisure from time to time is therapeutic and not to feel guilty when we decide to skip the routine or one morning, one day or two days, so as not to feel guilty when we leave something aside.

If, we feel guilty, because we feel that if we don't do our routine something is going to break or something might happen or we don't do what we agreed to do. It's hard when that routine is so clung to for example with older people forgetting a medication can create a feeling of guilt and they may even believe that if they don't take the medication they are going to get sick.

Just as mllg@mllg tells what happened to him because of insomnia, he woke up late and things were left undone, so it happened to me this week with my walking and exercise routine...for one reason or another the weekly plan was not followed but for that reason I didn't feel bad on the contrary I considered it a rest and stayed in bed for an extra hour, and at least did some stretching at home to get through the day without movement...of course only stretching.

Routines are necessary so that there is an organization as well as in our brain, in the things we do, but we must also give ourselves permission to not comply with them, but it is not that we are going to leave spaces that we allow ourselves for a long time. It's like saying, I'm going to take a breath, I've taken a breath and I'm going to go back to reality to continue with the routine, the schedule of the walk, breakfast, lunch and something else.
