In life we spend our time running from one place to another to do things and say that we are not stuck. Sometimes we want to do things and because of the refusal of others we are paralyzed. I tell this because of the story of my lemon tree.

My patio is cement on all sides, only two spaces on the side of the garage approximately 2 meters long by 90 cms wide, that remained because I insisted on it, I always wanted wild flowers in my yard even if only a few. They gave me yellow, red, orange and pink blossoms, all of them very beautiful, I prepared my soil and planted in that space. With time, in that little space I call it my little garden I used seeds of puticas also of various colors...they grew beautiful of all colors.

day I was cleaning the little garden, I was cutting the flower heads that had already dried their flowers and I also discovered a little plant at that time we did not know if it was lemon, tangerine, orange because there the remains of these fruits we put them as part of the compost to keep the soil nourished.

Since I saw it I said I am not going to take it out and if I take it out it is to plant it in a yard of another person who allows it (I always wanted to have a lemon plant in my yard), I thought of my sister-in-law who lives nearby and has a yard for it; at no time did it cross my mind to pull it out. Excited, I remembered my longing for a lemon plant and there it was.

Something came up that we were planning a trip and between one thing and another we forgot the lemon plant. There it was. We left. The pandemic arrived. The three-month trip turned into a year; the lemon plant did not cross my mind until one day a sister-in-law showed us a video where she showed us the plants, neglected of course, they only went around the house. When we see the lemon tree, big and I say that this plant will not leave the house, it has resisted our absence, it is brave. We got them ugly, neglected, the lemon tree as well as the capachos, the whores have declined a lot.

After several days while we organized the cleaning of the house, not days but weeks, the little garden was calling me...until I got up the courage and started to work on it. Weeks and months went by and the lemon tree was still beautiful, growing until one day my husband discovered some little lemons, a lot of excitement...then I began to see the flowers on several branches, when we realized it was full of flowers and fruits...until a few weeks ago it began to give us its big, beautiful fruits, full of juice...that citrus so rich and medicinal.

We can only be thankful every time the day begins and we find several lemons on the ground, we consume them, we share them with our loved ones, they are happy with this gift that nature gave us... My lemon tree is what I call it and I feel it is a gift that I always wanted and the universe answered.
