No. It is SCRIPTURAL from the mouth of Saint Paul... as much as, from a purely human perspective, I would be inclined to agree with you.
(I might like to have my own private Harem too, and not be found guilty by God of anything in so doing, or I might love to be able to trample on others in my desire for Earthly success, etc., etc., but I don't get to choose to do those things which God has proscribed.)
Commandments from your Creator and mind--as revealed through his disciples and the patriarchs--are not optional for Christians. We do not get to subject them to human reason--which is finite and subjective anyway.
We are not going to agree on the preeminence of Scripture, so the rest of this becomes a moot point, my friend.
