I appreciate your pushback... of course there is always anecdotes that go the other way around. Its not a given that everyone will behave a certain way.

That said, I don't fault people for not wanting to lose their benefits. I won't lie, I would probably do the same in their shoes.

My whole point is that if we reworked our systems of incentives, we would probably get better results.

This is one of the reasons why I believe in UBI as an answer.
