Ode to the Duck
A Sonnet
by memeon
My cheerful duck, you inspire me to write.
How I hate the way you cook, look and call,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the sharp nightfall.
Let me compare you to a contender?
You are more grumpy, exciting and soft.
Warm winds shake the leafage of September,
And autumntime has the superb hayloft.
How do I hate you? Let me count the ways.
I hate your eyelashes, fingers and thigh.
Thinking of your blue fingers fills my days.
My hate for you is the uniform aye.
Now I must away with a fearful heart,
Remember my through words whilst we're apart.
