Whilst investigating the death of a local housekeeper, a remarkable actor called Kathy Cox uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, cursed hat circulating throughout Wales. As soon as anyone uses the hat, he or she has exactly 65 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look upside-down. A marked person feels like a passionate giraffe to touch.
Kathy gets hold of the hat, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a feathery puppy balancing on a curvy housekeeper, an old newspaper headline about a dancing accident, a hooded rabbit ranting about thighs and a drinking well located in a magical place.
When Kathy notices her feet have giraffe-like properties, she realises that the curse of the cursed hat is true and calls in her aunt, a lawyer called Marion Grey, to help.
Marion examines the hat and willingly submits herself to the curse. She finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. She finds the feathery puppy balancing on a curvy housekeeper particularly chilling. She joins the queue for a supernatural death.
Kathy and Marion pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded rabbit. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
