At a time when equal rights and pay for women is still being fought for, and many people are still being lauded as the “The First Female....” or “The First Black...” or “The First Latino...,” this woman was always ahead of the game. She’s been shattering glass ceilings and embarking on new frontiers for quite sometime. Our daughters, in fact, all daughters got to see new possibilities that took them from just being talent on a show, to owning one. With that power she built bridges, not barriers, with a simple phrase, “Oprah’s on!”
Well on your 64th birthday it’s amazing to see that Oprah’s still on! Our worldview may differ at times, and our approach may be unique to our individual giftedness, but that doesn’t destroy our ability to have a mutual love and respect for each other! From philanthropy in America, to education facilities in South Africa, you’ve had great impact on this world! Thanks for the many times you went out of your way to be there for Serita and I.
