Salvation doesn't require us to perform religious activities in other to gain salvation, Salvation is free to anyone who is ready to gain it from God. Religion is good because it makes us to learn things about Jesus Christ, but being a religious person alone cannot save our soul on the last day. Salvation is a gift of God received through genuine faith, repentance, and trust in Jesus Christ.
God wants us to be sincere to him in all what we are doing but not how often we go to the sanctuary. A person should seek God with a humble heart, believe in Jesus, turn away from sin, and follow His teachings. Religion may provide guidance and fellowship, but according to the biblical message, it is faith in God and His saving grace that brings salvation.
