Do you think self-care is selfish or not? Discuss in a post of at least 300 words and the photographs you use for this post must be one you took personally.

It's been awhile since I've joined any contests in this community. Thanks, galenkp@galenkp, for this opportunity. I guess the topic that I chose is related to me and mostly to everyone here on hive.

From my personal thoughts: Selfish is a word of choice that suggests that we are passing judgement. Everybody is "selfish." All creatures are, including humans.

Self-care is an extremely important aspect of our physical, emotional, and mental health. By taking care of yourselves, you reduce your stress and boost your energy levels. When we don’t take care of ourselves, we are more likely to get sick and become less productive.

So it’s important to take care of yourself first. If you’re not happy, you’ll not be able to make anyone happy. You should surround your mind and yourself with happy thoughts and happy people.

With chasing daily day-to-day life goals, we should also try chasing happiness, because Real happiness comes from within, and a happy mind leads to a happy life.

Self-care can often be seen as a selfish act, but in reality, it is the most important thing you can do for yourself. When you do it, you’ll be happier and healthier, which also can be a benefit to those around you.

We always become overly preoccupied with taking care of friends and family. We neglect to take care of ourselves. We must indulge ourselves and inspire ourselves. This will give you more self-assurance.

Self-care is not entirely selfish, in my opinion, and it is important for everyone. But it's still selfish to only consider your own interests. Being able to take care of oneself is a continuous, essential human activity. The only time you will be selfish is when you're at the extreme.

So for me, self care is selfish in a necessary way. If you don't take care of yourself, how can you expect others to?
