The Breede River is a river in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
It is completely encircled by high mountains and one of the longest rivers in South Africa.
The river mouths out in Witsand, a beach close by.
The drought we are experiencing in the Western cape has caused the river to be filled with more salt water than fresh water, making it possible for bull sharks to swim up to 30km up into the river.
