The cold weather makes me sleepy during the day. I wish I could go into hibernation for a couple of months. I haven't had much time to draw lately, but on my way home the other day I passed through a street littered with these bright leaves, and I ended up collecting a handful to press and dry for future projects. Sweetgum leaves might look a little bit like maple leaves, especially in the autumn when they've turned a vivid red, but they're an entirely different species.
What exactly I'll be using them for, I haven't decided yet. I'd like to do some more ink drawings, but a collage could be interesting as well...
