Meet my daughter's very well loved pet rats!
All 4 are females, as that is the easiest way to avoid unwanted babies. They are extremely intelligent and because she has socialized them from a young age, they are affectionate and easy to handle.
She spends a lot of time with them and provides them with plenty of toys and opportunities to interact and learn.
The swimming pool. The last video I saw they were playing on a tugboat that was floating in the water.
They always have grass or moss and they love playing in dirt.
The hardest part for her is that they only live an average of two and a half years, and she has to go through the heartbreak of loosing them too soon.
The most common health concerns have been respiratory infections and mammary tumors.
A hammock to sleep in.
I love watching the videos she sends of their latest antics and accomplishments, and she has convinced me that they make great pets, but I do have to say that I am glad they live at her house and not mine!
