I've gotten used to the fact that in my family we wait to celebrate
'Wintermas' (thanks for that great term for the December holidays 
We have family birthdays to celebrate and we will be welcoming in the new decade, too.
It will be strange this year because my 86 year old mother has been in the hospital since Thanksgiving and she is not doing well.
I still have lots of preparations before everyone arrives!
No matter which December holiday your celebrate, I hope it is a joyful one!
