Did you know there is a community on Hive called

Antiques and Vintage?

It was created by elkezaksek@elkezaksek and there are some interesting posts there. HIVE-132936

I looked around the house for some old thing that I could post about and settled on my great grandparents coffee grinder.

The words that are cast above the handle say ARCADE and CRYSTAL. It was manufactured by the Arcade MFG.Co in Freeport, Illinois. Arcade was an iron foundry that was in operation from the late 1800s to the Depression, and was best known for its extensive line of cast iron toys. Freeport would have been the nearest 'big' town to my great grandparents rural home.

The top jar is original and says Crystal, but the smaller bottom jar that caught the ground coffee is no longer around.

The company's advertising slogan was "Grinding each day makes the flavor stay".

I can't resist posting this to #SublimeSunday for c0ff33a@c0ff33a!

Get out there and make posts, comments and votes and let's make Hive explode with activity and engagement! It's up to each of us to make our new home a grand success!
