My bird photos this week are of a pair of Carolina wrens that stopped by for a few seeds. Although their main diet consists of insects, during the winter the will eat fruit and some seeds.
They can be found in the Eastern half of North America, where they are fairly common.
Carolina wrens often mate for life, and the song of the male is one of my favorite outdoor sounds! I'm always amazed that such a little bird can sing so loudly!
