Birds AND shadows! It doesn't get much better than that!
House finches are my most frequent bird sighting this week.
Everyone seems to have them living close by. . This male house finch is at my kids house in Chicago. He is getting friendly and it appears that he actually may be thinking of moving into the house and living up to his name!
One of these things is not like the other! This is a security camera photo of the house finch nest at my daughter's house. It seems that a cowbird has laid her egg in the nest. My daughter may have played Mother Nature and removed it.
The female birds must be busy sitting on eggs, but here are a few photos of the males! The male's color comes from the food that it eats. They eat seeds and insects, but when they eat fruits and berries, his color becomes brighter.
