On the weekend the local Rotary Club hosted their first Meet Your Neighbour Day at the Eynesbury Homestead a beautful location in a community on the outskirts of Melbourne. Much of it is still prestine countryside with lushes green forest and a running river and weir. It is where rural living meets the city.
Now that Spring has sprung and the weather is getting warmer it was great to finally get out amongst other people and entertain the kids and also have the children meet other children and make new friends. My partner was the lucky one that got up to talk about the local community and how everyone wants to work together to ensure the local community receives the appropriate infrastructure and development that it needs while also maintaining the look and feel of the rural living area.
Eynesbury is only a new developed community that was unlocked not too long before COVID hit and many in the local area were quite isolated not having access to shops or services due to it being new. But now that things are moving a long nicely things are starting to happen with more development planned. A school recently opened as well as local childcare centres.
Overall we had a wonderful time making new friends and meeting new people, it's always great getting to know the people who live near you.
