Communities are simple. Abide by the rules of the community you are posting in. It's not a free for all, if the rules aren't followed then people will post any old shit.

I think the greatest mark of a person is knowing when they have made a mistake and owning it. If someone chastised me for posting in their community and not following the rules I would apologise. Sincerely so.

But nowadays it's too easy to take a shot instead of owning your own behaviours.
