I'm not sure if I am reading what you wrote wrong or if there is a misunderstanding. Miners and node operators, those that keep track of the confirmed blockchain and pending transactions, are different.

Originally I didn't want to be holding any bitcoin prefork since I only use coinbase but have always been telling myslef I need to setup my wallet on my desktop and hold some. This gave me the push I needed.

Nothing like buying bitcoin at $2730 and putting a sell order in at $2790 and waking up to bitcoin being worth just above $2500.

Some days are great others i want to just quit honestly. I found that my biggest roadblocks are related to windows and the fact i have modded bios that require driver signatures. rx 470s was a great choice
