Ingredients

🧅 1 red onion grated
🌿 30g fresh parsley chopped
🌿 30g fresh mint chopped
🥚 1 medium egg
🍞 100g breadcrumbs
🥩 500g beef mince 20% fat
🌿 1 teaspoon dried oregano
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🧂 1/2 teaspoon pepper
🫒 3 tablespoons Olive oil for shallow frying

Instructions

1- Prepare the Onion and Herbs:

  • Grate the red onion using a handheld box grater.
  • Transfer the grated onion into a large stainless steel mixing bowl.

2- Chop and Mix:

  • Finely chop the fresh parsley and mint.
  • Add them to the bowl with the onion.

3- Combine Ingredients:

  • Break the egg into the bowl.
  • Add breadcrumbs, beef mince, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

4- Shape the Patties:

  • Divide the mixture into 10 equal portions.
  • Shape each portion into a flat burger, smoothing the edges with the palm of your hand.

5- Prepare for Frying:

  • Heat a Tefal non-stick frying pan over high heat.
  • Add enough olive oil to cover the base for shallow frying.

6- Test Oil Temperature:

  • Insert a wooden spoon into the oil.
  • If it bubbles around the spoon, it's ready for frying.

7- Cook the Burgers:

  • Carefully place the shaped burgers into the hot oil, in batches if necessary.
  • Fry them for 3-4 minutes on each side until they achieve a crispy, golden-brown texture.

8- Drain Excess Oil:

  • Remove the cooked burgers from the pan.
  • Place them on a white ceramic plate lined with kitchen roll to drain any excess oil.
