Our story as a family starts from about 5 years ago. We were a bit younger, and free. We travelled across Bulgaria, we saw a lot of beautiful places here and there. I myself, being a single kid in the family didn’t think that I would ever have many kids, but my wife’s story is different. She has two sisters and their family is a lot bigger. I thought that two kids, as a median would be fine for us.
It was 2019 when our first boy was born. We were very happy and I have to say this changed our life. Having a baby is a very responsive task and raising it properly isn’t simple. Shortly after our boy was born, the COVID came to this world and everything changed. We thought it would be a good time to have a second kid. What a better time, when you are closed in your home anyway, to fill up your time with the reason of life?
Our little boy was born in 2021. Good for now. We’ve completed our duty, as citizens of our country, having two kids. Here in Bulgaria, having many kids isn’t common. Most of the families stop after the second one is born, and some still remain with only one heir. This maybe is due to the fact, that having more than one or two kids becomes very hard. It’s not only that you have to raise them good, but the financial part of the thing is a big limiting factor too.
Some people just feel more relaxed with having just one kid, although they have the means to stay financially stable even with two. We decided, that being intelligent and aware people, we may cope with the task of having three kids. We were not worried about our tiredness, although dealing with two little “beasts” is very tiring and we don’t have proper sleep for long periods of time.
So, in March 2023 we are expecting our third offspring. We were very curious to see what was gonna be its gender. Having one additional boy would mean that we will have many clothes available from the big brothers and we have already got used to caring for a baby boy. On the other hand, having a girl would add a nice color to our family, although caring for a girl would be very different and unknown feeling for us.
Finally, we know it for sure… we are having a little princess waiting see this big world in a matter of months.
I felt a little relief that we are not having twins, because a house with 4 kids seemed like a little nightmare. 😁
Now, we can take some deep breath and start thinking about only one baby. We know that we are facing a couple more years of sleepless nights, but this will eventually end. After all the joy with having the three of them would be worth all of this.
Recently we did a gender reveal party, and all our family members were extremely happy to learn what the baby would be. Our big boy wanted one more baby brother, but after we told him that it’s a girl, he wasn’t upset at all. He smiled!
The little boy isn’t that reasonable and doesn’t really know what’s happening, although when we ask him where’s the baby, he points at his mommy’s belly. It’s interesting how both of them are gonna treat the baby, but we will know soon!
As the time passes, my concerns about a lot of things are building up, but I know we will cope with all the upcoming challenges. There’s nothing better than a house full of children’s’ laughter!
So… we are waiting for March to come and we are over with having kids! 😁 At least until some other idea kicks our brains. Just kidding…
That’s for now! Feel free to leave your comments. I’ll be curious to learn how many kids do you have and what’s the “norm” in your country.
See ya!
