Well, as you may know from one of my previous posts, microbreweries here in Bulgaria gathered around a great idea to help the local business (including bars and craft breweries) by placing a special collection of beers only in dedicated craft beer bars. The “I AM AMAZING” project encourages people to go out and have one of these exclusive beers in the local bar.
This is the first beer from this brewery, that I have ever tried. It’s a relatively small brewery, located in the city of Lovech in Bulgaria. It’s a small city, with not very great economy and running a brewery in such a city is very encouraging. The brewery itself is about 2-3 years old now, which is among the new generation of fresh brewers.
The beer is relatively clear and the head is nice and even. I have read some comments in Facebook that it needed a week or two in the refrigerator in order to become more clear. Mine was already 10 days in, so here’s the result. Very nice looking one! The color is golden to golden-amber and the carbonation is mid-range. The aromas are stunningly fresh, from the used variety of hops - Galena, Mosaic and Idaho 7. I don’t remember to have tasted beer with Idaho hops before and it’s really a bit different from the other beers with classical Citra and Simcoe hops.
The taste is classical for the DIPA style. Mid-strength body and very heavy hop bomb, while the bitterness is at mid to high levels. Carbonation is very nice and in the mouth is very pleasurable. Even my son enjoyed a little sip of the foam and approved the beer! He even wanted more. I promised him that he will have some... after a dozen of years... or a bit more... 😂
He is truly a little beer lover. And his father is truly a BiG beer lover!
Cheers and have a nice Sunday!
