It is never late for a coffee post! I had a weekend trip with some coffee treats!
And here it comes… it is the first week in quite some time without weekend coffee post from me. But what a weekend it was!
It was because we had to visit a children’s birthday in the capital of Bulgaria and therefore we had to travel a lot. The Satirday morning was early, and it was not until 10 PM on Sunday before I reach home again.
Of course, Saturday started with a nice espresso shot and after that I had to think of the best option for takeaway coffee for the long trip.
I chose an Aeropress! This brewing method gives me a great opportunity to achieve a very complex and intense flavor of the brewed coffee. And yes… the thermos keeps my flavorful coffee hot for a very long time!
It was a long trip for me so I needed this refreshment drink. Or maybe a mind booster drink, because I don’t feel an energy boost when I consume coffee. It is more about the beautiful mood it brings to my soul.
On Saturday we were busy with all the arrangements about attending the birthday, but Sunday was entirely about ourselves. First of all we decided to visit a pastry shop in Sofia. My wife wanted to attend this place for a lot of time, but for a set of different reasons she wasnt able until now. The place offers very nice croissants, made only with bio products and various other sweet treats.
The children seemed to be a lot more excited than my wife, when they saw the variety of sweet treats. And while they were choosing, I and the young lady waited outside in the sweet autumn sunshine.
Of course they all were excited, but daddy wanted to visit a coffee place. Amd I knew exactly which coffee plce I wanted to visit, because it was less than 300 meters away. I’m happy that the little beasts finish their meal very fast, and soon we headed towards the coffee shop. Welcome to the newest location of Dabov Specialty Coffee!
Thia coffee shop was opened about 3 weeks ago and i have to say it is better than the other places for various amount of reasons. First of all, it is next to a very big park in Sofia… 100 meters to be exact. Secondly, it has a lot of air and outside part with tables where you can enjoy your coffee. The other Dabov coffee shops are very small and are made more for takeaway coffee. Yes, they are all neat, but you will miss some air when visit them.
I have to say we were a bit sad, for being with the kids, because they were full of energy and didn’t stop fir a single second. I admire their levels of energy, but after all we have to be thankful that they are healthy and always very playful. We, as parents, just beed some peaceful time to enjoy our coffee… not gonna happen soon though…
I wanted to try a coffee that I haven’t tried before and because I have had all the basic and mid level coffees, the choice was to taste a competition coffee! Of course, filter!
The barista offered a coffee from Indonesia. Dabov currently has two competition coffees from this country and we have already tried one of them. We waited with anticipation the jasmine, honey and marzipan flavors.
I wasnt sure how marzipan would feel next to jasmine, but it was there, giving a gentle touch with the nice almond bitterness. The honey sweety flavor balanced perfectly the whole flavor, making this coffee more than perfect. Bit the peacefulness… it wasn’t with us… 😁
Overall, this is a place that I would definitely enjoy visiting again and if someone needs a place for working while having a perfect cup of coffee, this would fit great. But… really not a place for a family with three kids… or maybe not all the kids are so vigorous and energetic. Who knows?!! 😁
After having this coffee, we had a plan to visit some other places, but as soon as we got into the car all the kids fall asleep. This was our golden opportunity to travel back peacefully. Maybe we will have to wait for our next visit to Sofia.
