In small village Rizvanusha in Lika (continental part of Croatia) you can find Adventure centre Rizvan city with lot of fun outdoor activities.
Centre previous was an old family farm and now is place where groups or individuals from all around Europe come to relax in beautiful nature of Velebit Nature Park and to participate in many of adventure activities they offer. You can choose interesting stuff like: adrenalin park, paintball, quad safari, jeep safari, archery, cave adventure, canuing and rafting, giant swing and many other activities. And all the activities are outdoor in beautiful nature and crisp clean mountain air of Lika.
You can camp in tent or you can rent a bungalow outside, or you can spend the night in the renovated Lika house built with traditional materials, stone and wood.
I was in Rizvan City in early spring last year, and I had so much fun that I was sad when we had to go even I’m really not outdoors type. The guys that were there with us are very kind, fun and helpful. They take care of safety measures and they are excellent hosts.
I slept in bungalow which was kind of fun even it was still very cold at night, we had little heaters so everything was good. The fun part was going to the bathroom which is in separate building by the bungalows. And funniest part is bear who lives very closely in the woods so they warned us to look around first when going to the bathroom at night. But there was no close encounters, hapilly…
From activities I tried adrenalin park, that is a walkway set on trees 10 meters above ground, and each stage differs by the way of passing. Some have ropes, some boards, some small swings... It is very physically challenging, especially for someone who is not fit and active. But I managed to do it, and at the end you finish the route with 50 meters long zip-line. Feeling of flying through the forest was great.
I also managed to climb the 10 meters high artificial climbing rock. I surprised myself doing that because I do not exactly have fear of height, but I’m not far from that too.
Paintball was also fun with two different terrains and lot of barricades and ditches to hide. But the biggest surprise was giant swing. It’s a 15 meters high swing, it has bench for three people (luckily, it would be too scary to do it alone), and little mechanism pull the bench all the way up so you are parallel with the ground on the height of 15 meters. The feeling when the bench is released and you fly, adrenaline kicks and you can’t help yourself but scream as loud as you can.
I had beautiful time in Rizvan City and if you’re ever in Croatia, don’t miss it, you won’t regret it!
