Good afternoon, fellow fungi lovers! 🍄
I stepped out early today to tidy up our yard, and right near the trash can were these two little mushrooms that are popping up beside some new young plants.
The first thing that popped into my head after seeing them was that they look just like pancakes. 😆
Their caps are flat and round, and they're covered with reddish-brown scales that are scattered all over. If we compare them to pancakes again, it's like someone drizzled syrup in a nice pattern on top of them, haha.
Underneath that cap, their stems are short but look really strong and sturdy.
It's hidden under the cap, but no way they could hide from me. Haha
I was going to take their picture no matter what! 😆
I used Google Lens to find out what they are, and it’s called Stinking Dapperling, or Lepiota cristata.
Their name sounds interesting. I didn’t get close enough to smell it, and didn’t even notice any scent at all.
But from what I read, it’s said that it sometimes gives off a smell like rubber or coal gas... though I can’t say for sure myself since I didn’t test it out.
Nature really never stops amazing me, and I’m always so happy to share these little finds with all of you here. 🥰🫶🏻🥰
Until my next mushroom hunting...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
