Hi, lovely people! ππΌββοΈ
β
βWishing you all the best. π·
β
βAs of September 9, 2025, 6:50 pm, 1 US dollar equals approximately 56.71 Philippine pesos.
With that, you can buy everyday items or enjoy local food like fish balls, fresh fruits, or even local drinks.
β
βToday's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge is about "One Day, One Dollar".
β
βFor 1 USD, what can you buy in your country?
β
βThis is a very simple challenge, but it will let you realize a lot of things.
β
βThis lovely afternoon, my hubby, our two kids, and I decided to visit the night market.
That's the place we often visit for our favorite afternoon snacks.
β
βThis time, inspired by the challenge posted by @ruffatotmeee yesterday, I thought, "Why not spend just a dollar on snacks for everyone".
β
So with the challenge in mind, we started picking our favorite treats.
β
βWe started with my son's beloved favorite, the Japanese cake.
We grabbed two pieces, each costing just 10 pesos ($0.18), one for Ryzen and one for Aiden.
β
βLook at Ryzen's face as I handed him the cake, lol.
A happy kiddo!
β
βNext, let's buy my hubby's go-to snack. It's roasted and salted peanuts.
A small pack of it will also cost you 10 pesos ($0.18).
β
βThis already satisfies my hubby.
β
βHow about my favorite snack?
β
βIt's a kwek-kwek. βΊοΈ
I bought a few, each costing just 5 pesos ($0.08) plus my son's Ryzen craving, lumpia.
β
βI also picked one for him.
β
βAll in all, the total came to only 15 pesos ($0.26).
β
βOf course, no snack session is complete without a refreshing drink.
We decided to buy the fruity juice made from a mix of apples, bananas, grapes, and watermelon.
It has milk, making it a smooth tasty drink. π
β
βIt only costs 10 pesos ($0.18).
β
βSo because we don't have enough money to buy for two, my hubby and I just share. π
β
βAnd that's how we completed the challenge.
β
βWe counted the remaining funds, and we were thrilled to see that we had 2 pesos ($0.03) left! π₯³
I was amazed when I realized just how far a single US dollar could stretch in feeding my family.
β
βWhat might seem like a small amount of money to some can go a long way when spent wisely.
β
βWith careful planning, one dollar can satisfy everyone's cravings and favorites.
β
βUntil our next challenge...
β
βThanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. ππΈ
