This brings a smile to my face as they’re growing.
‎

‎
‎At the moment we have 3 young Dekalb Brown Chickens. I am so pleased to see how they’re growing. Knowing that they’ve got past some of the toughest time of their life being little chicks. Little baby chicks require extra care as they can so easily get hurt. My hubby actually once experimented at checking if the eggs from our Dekalb Brown hens were fertile and they were, thank goodness!
‎

‎
‎Which led to these 3 adorable young chickens here. (The other one is down below.)
‎
‎Aiden is really enjoying them! He loves feeding them and playing. He always joins his daddy whilst feeding them.
‎

‎
‎We also have ducks now! We started with 10 but we only have 4 left. 🥹 My hubby is unsure as to what happened to the others.
‎

‎
‎One day they became weak and unfortunately didn’t make it the next day. We also lost one of our hens.
‎

‎
‎Whilst it is a shame to lose an animal it does happen when trying to look after them as best you can. Although its a part of looking after animals.
‎
‎So lots of good times but also some surprising setbacks. Anyway, that's just a quick update on our backyard.
‎
‎Despite the setbacks we’re so pleased with how they’re growing. Hopefully our chickens and ducks will keep growing healthy, produce their own young and give us even more eggs soon.
‎
‎Another little blessing. How about you, Hivers?
‎
‎Do you also keep chickens or ducks in your backyard?
