From Fluffy Chicks to Beautiful Chickens: A Proud Update on the Five Feathered Friends I Care For

Today, I'd like to share an update about the five chicks that I've been helping care for since April this year. Some of you may remember them from my previous blogs, where I mentioned that aside from my neighbor's roosters, there were also five newly added chicks under his care.
Although they are not my chickens, I was given the responsibility of feeding them twice a day. It's a simple task that I do every morning and afternoon, alongside managing my online side hustles and other daily responsibilities. Over the past several months, that routine has allowed me to witness their entire journey from tiny, fluffy chicks to fully grown chickens.
Back in April, they were small bundles of feathers that loved running around the yard. They would excitedly gather whenever feeding time came, and watching them peck at their food was always entertaining. At that stage, it was difficult to tell what they would look like as adults.
Now, they have completely transformed!
Out of the five, two are females and three are males. What makes things interesting is how they are housed today. The two hens and one rooster share their own small chicken house, where they stay comfortably together. They seem to have adapted well to sharing the same space and spend much of their day scratching the ground and searching for anything edible.
The other two roosters have a different arrangement. Each one is tied separately to a bamboo stake in the yard. This setup keeps them from fighting with each other and with the other rooster. Despite being tied, they still have enough room to walk around, stretch their legs, peck at the ground, and enjoy the fresh air.
The three males have grown into handsome roosters with colorful feathers and impressive tails. Every now and then, they proudly strut around as if they own the entire place. Meanwhile, the two females have become beautiful hens with calmer personalities and graceful movements.
One of the things I enjoy most about caring for them is seeing the results of consistency. Even though my role is limited to feeding them twice a day, I have been able to observe their growth firsthand. It's amazing how quickly animals can develop when they receive proper care, food, and attention.
Looking back, I never expected to become attached to these birds. What started as a small favor for my neighbor turned into a routine that I genuinely enjoy. Seeing those tiny chicks grow into healthy, beautiful adult chickens has been a rewarding experience.
