Hi everybody! I want to share with you a new TV series I have begun to watch and enjoyed lately.
''Cruel Summer'' is an interesting drama, thriller, and mystery TV series which appeared this year and brings out the story of Jeanette, a teenager that seems somehow troubled and aspires to have the looks of her classmate, Kate, and finally she ends up accused of being involved in her classmate abduction.
Both girls' lives change dramatically after this event. Kate has to overcome the abduction trauma whereas Jeanette has to deal with the hate of all the town. At first, Jeanette becomes very popular after Kate's abduction, a thing she wished for a long time but that won't last too much.
Jeanette transforms into a popular girl after she has somehow taken Kate's life, by trying to look and act like her, by ''stealing'' her friends and even boyfriend. After being accused of being part of Kate's abduction, Jeanette turns now in the most hated girl in the town. She loses the new boyfriend and most of her friends - more specifically the ones that she didn't turn down already. On the other side, Kate finds an ally in Jeanette's best friend. Finally, both girls' families have to adjust to the whole new situation meanwhile and it is also interesting to watch the family dynamics.
The TV series is very intriguing because you can't know for sure which girl says the truth. Both of them seem to lose track during the development of the series. Also, the action doesn't follow the time order, but sequential passages from the past and the present are disclosed alternatively.
The series has quite a high score on IMDB of 7.6 and I think is quite a deserved one.

'' Cruel Summer '' es una serie de televisi贸n de drama, suspenso y misterio interesante que apareci贸 este a帽o y que narra la historia de Jeanette, una adolescente que parece de alguna manera preocupada y aspira a tener el aspecto de su compa帽era de clase, Kate, y finalmente ella termina acusada de estar involucrada en el secuestro de su compa帽era de clase.
La vida de ambas ni帽as cambia dr谩sticamente despu茅s de este evento. Kate tiene que superar el trauma de la abducci贸n, mientras que Jeanette tiene que lidiar con el odio de toda la ciudad. Al principio, Jeanette se vuelve muy popular despu茅s del secuestro de Kate, algo que deseaba durante mucho tiempo pero que no durar谩 demasiado.
Jeanette se transforma en una chica popular despu茅s de que de alguna manera le quit贸 la vida a Kate, al tratar de verse y actuar como ella, al "robar" a sus amigos e incluso a su novio. Despu茅s de ser acusada de ser parte del secuestro de Kate, Jeanette se convierte ahora en la chica m谩s odiada de la ciudad. Ella pierde al nuevo novio y a la mayor铆a de sus amigos, m谩s espec铆ficamente a los que ya no rechaz贸. Por otro lado, Kate encuentra un aliado en el mejor amigo de Jeanette. Finalmente, las familias de ambas ni帽as tienen que adaptarse a la nueva situaci贸n mientras tanto y tambi茅n es interesante observar la din谩mica familiar.
La serie de televisi贸n es muy intrigante porque no se puede saber con certeza qu茅 chica dice la verdad. Ambos parecen perder la pista durante el desarrollo de la serie. Adem谩s, la acci贸n no sigue el orden del tiempo, sino que, alternativamente, se revelan pasajes secuenciales del pasado y el presente.
La serie tiene una puntuaci贸n bastante alta en IMDB de 7,6 y creo que es bastante merecida.
