Hab铆an pasado tres d铆as desde que estaban perdidos en el mar, sin saber cu谩l era su rumbo.

It had been three days since they had been lost at sea, not knowing where they were headed. They had agreed to share a weekend on Ismael's co-worker's sailboat, but the boat was robbed by pirates and Jorge and his wife Veronica were killed and thrown into the water. Both Ismael and Carolina were saved by not being inside the boat, they had decided to practice scuba diving and this activity saved them from that terrible destiny, but this would only be the beginning of an impressive journey.
That afternoon, the after-effects of dehydration and starvation were taking its toll on the minds of these spouses, who fell asleep from exhaustion. When Ismael woke up, he was a little dizzy and his chapped lips hurt him a lot, he saw his beautiful wife, drooping and showing signs of exhaustion that he could no longer hide. Exhausted and with an air of desperation he cried out to nowhere with a troubled cry for help, and although his words could not be heard by anyone else except his wife, he felt that everything was going to be all right.
As they spent the night watching the stars and imagining a delicious dinner with a piece of medium rare meat, steamed potatoes and a delicious salad with dried fruits, drinking pink wine, Carolina's favorite, they both succumbed to a deep sleep in each other's arms and with the illusion that everything would end soon, asking their bodies to hold on a little longer, since there was no more food and the water was about to run out.
The night passed quietly, the sea and its swaying silently distanced them, there was nothing they could do to change this situation, none of them knew how to sail. The next morning, the sound of birds woke up the excited man, he looked around and saw some coconut trees in the distance. He ran to Carolina and woke her up screaming:
!We are saved, woman! We have found land. These were the most awaited words for her, with a hug and a painful kiss, they celebrated the discovery that gave them hope of survival.
They took sips of water that remained in the supplies and set out to swim to the shore, with them they carried some implements in a backpack to help them, they felt that their strength would not allow them to reach, each time they saw the sand farther away, however, in a last effort they managed to get closer and were finally stepping on land. The first thing they had to do was to grab the coconuts and as best they could, they opened some of them in a rudimentary way with the help of the knife, hands and teeth. This holy water encouraged them to continue exploring. They knocked down more coconuts and took them with them, they had to have something safe in their hands.
As they went deeper into that island they felt fear and agreed not to separate, the sound of birds and the wind through the trees acted as a source of energy that helped them to keep walking, soon they found some banana trees and there they ate bananas and their smiles did not stop, it was the tastiest delicacy in the whole world.
Once they had satiated their appetite, they decided that they would walk around the island in search of people or a place to make a shelter and where to look for some more food. They were still walking when they found among the tallest trees the remains of an aircraft that had crashed and whose crew members were stuck in a skeletal state among the branches. That scene disturbed Carolina who screamed so loudly that she alerted the chimpanzees and they replied with noises so shocking that the moment was terrifying.
Before nightfall, they had located other fruits and fresh water from a creek, but they decided to return to the sailboat because this island was filling up with water and they did not know if it would flood at night, so they drank some more coconut water, ate other food and went back to the sea with the intention of reaching the sailboat and sleeping in the cabin.
On the sailboat they could see the sunset and before the last rays of sunlight fell they could see on the shore of that island some creepy figures that watched them insistently, they did not understand how during the day that place had given them hope to continue with their lives while they were rescued and at night, some demonic apparitions dominated the space.
They did not sleep a wink all night watching those creatures, who saw them and made deadly signs that kept them scared and praying. By morning they were exhausted and the figures were no longer visible. Carolina told Ismael that they should return to land for more coconuts and fruits, but he was very afraid of those things that were there the night before, Ismael took courage and went to look for more provisions, this time he only took coconuts from the shore and returned as quickly as possible. Two weeks went by like this, during the day they took advantage of the opportunity to grab as much fruit as possible and at night they took turns sleeping while the other one was in charge of watching over those creatures.
One day at dawn they were surprised by a boat carrying squid and seafood for the port, when they saw the boat adrift they decided to help them. Ismael and Carolina told the story of their journey to safety and the fishermen were amazed.
One of them told them that their salvation was not to sleep on the island, an old fishermen's belief said that the island was guarded by some ruffians who were vilely murdered and condemned to suffer there for eternity, since then, anyone who was at night in that place, was killed and condemned to be trapped his soul with them.
Carolina and Ismael never entered the sea again, even in their dreams they see how those beings observe them.
