A place where quality content is not only upvoted by peers, but posters and curators are incentivized to produce original, thought-worthy posts and comments. Not only that, but you can earn a little extra cash while learning more about cryptocurrency. Yep, sounds pretty cool... Thats why I joined too....
Unfortunately, it didn't take me long to figure out something's not right.
I started exploring the "Trending" pages looking for interesting posts to upvote and comment on, and new accounts to follow. Curious, I couldn't help but spend more time trying to figure out why so much bullshit was trending instead of seeking out the original content I came to this platform for. Suddenly, I'm reading about "whales" and "bidbots" and trying to analyze how some bafoon drawing over a price chart GUARANTEES me that a particular crypto will "moon" next week... I thought thats why I was leaving Facebook and Reddit behind, to get away from all that... Yet here I am.
Its not that quality content isn't here. It is, and cheers to all of you who produce it. But rifling through all the mounds of stinky steemy shitposts to find it is exhausting.
Hopefully something changes around here, because I really like the idea of this platform. What do you think? Is worthwhile content trending, or is it mostly a load of shit?
