There are a couple of strong attacking legend death monsters in Splinterlands. I consider Dark Ha'on as one of them, the other would be Lord of Darkness. Although Dark Ha'on on the surface may not look dangerous but the fact that it has a health of 13 at base level and Taunt mixed with Flying abilities it makes it a deadly foe. The main reason is the monster can avoid melee and range attacks while forcing its opponents to attack it head on.
The following battle is me using in my dragon summoner with death splinter is Dark Ha'on at level 1. At max 99 mama I knew I wanted to flood the formation with high mana monsters and with the rule set melee mania I knew for certain Dark Ha-on would suite well in the formation.
My opponent went with dragon summoner and life splinter. I had thought of going with life but considering I had stronger death legends I went with death instead. I would have went with life if I had a Scared Unicorn but I had rented it out so I went with death.
I started off with Cube as a solid tanker. I did not go with LA since I thought Cube would suite better at absorbing melee as it had self heal. My formation followed up with Dark Ha'on, Haunted Spirit, Chromatic Dragon, Kobo-Dragon Knight, and ending of with none other than Goblin Mech. All five monsters after Cube were high on melee attack and health while at high mana values.
My opponent went with Silvershield Paladin followed up with Kobo-Dragon Kinght, Prismatic Enegy, Silvershield Knight, Goblin Mech, and end it with Dragon Jumper. I like Dragon Jumper a lot and was deciding if I would choose to use it myself but health at 6 for base level lead me to hold off as I had better health monsters available to use.
My opponent's Paladin was knocked out in middle of the round and near the end of the round so was my Dark Ha'on. What worked was that my Cube survived and had a higher health than it started out at the beginning of the match. What did not was that Dark Ha'on could not absorb all the melee attacks as it had taunt ability and was knocked out before it could do much in the battle.
By end of second round my Cube was knocked out while my opponent still had remaining monsters intact. This appear to be a lose for me as I am handicapped with a 5 to 4 monsters disadvantage.
By end of the third round my Haunted Spirit was knocked out. Down to 5 against 3 this look dire for me. Luckily I ended up knocking out their Kobo leaving the round at 4 against 3.
Tables appear to have turned as end of round four had my formation knock out both Prismatic Energy and Silvershield Knight. This weaken my opponents attack and further reduced their formation to be then 2 on 3. I now had the advantage in the match. The turning point was my Chormatic Dragon had enrage and at level 3 it made up for what I had weakness in my formation.
My formation was faster in attack and was able to knock out Goblin Mech leaving only Dragon Jumper left. It will be my opponent's demise at round 6.
The battle was a strong melee match and I came out on top due to my Chromatic Dragon. His enrage help boost his stats to knock out my opponent's monsters unphased. What was disappointing was that my Dark Ha'on did not deliver fully what it could have potentially done. Dark Ha'on was knocked out quite easily even with the abilities it had which was disappointing but understandable considering he was only level 1. I have a level 2 version of it too but at the time of battle I had rented it out.
The key to this match was having the higher melee attack while also being able to attack first. My Chromatic Dragon with enrage help boost its melee and speed which in turn attacked and kill my opponent's monsters before they could retaliate. This makes my Chromatic Dragon the hero of this bout.
