With the game being a little buggy these past few days I decided to entertain myself with something else but yet within the Splinterland ecosystem. I was looking at card prices lately and have noticed that on Wax platforms sometimes items are purchased at a higher price than on the Hive blockchain. I started to ponder about seeing if one could profit from these price differences.
Booster Packs Arbitrage
On cryptoslam.io/splinterlands I am able to see the latest transactions using WAX token. In the instance of Untamed packs the most recent ones purchased were at this price:
While on Hive-Engine a Untamed pack is currently trading a little under $18.50
A difference of $1.50 per a pack may not seem like much but if selling in bulk like 10 packs that would be $11.50 in price difference. There is a missing line item here that will reduce the price difference and that is on Wax the seller needs to pay a fee, 7% if I am not mistaken. With that even if one sells a pack on Wax for $20 they pocket $18.20 which comes out to be less than what is being sold for on Hive Engine. A reason people should be using Hive more since there is no transaction fees.
However there are times where the price difference is more than $1.50 per a pack. One just has to pay attention when this happens and play the arbitrage game patiently. I have seen packs sold for as low as $15 in the past couple of days and so if you are willing to wait a few days to trade in and out of packs to earn a price difference I think it is possible.
Wax Versus Hive
Since Wax is also now a very often used token to trade for Splinterlands assets I have paid attention to the token's price. Surprisingly in the past week or so the token has went up almost 25% from its lows.
I suppose if someone had sold Splinterlands assets two to five days ago and held on to the WAX they would come out ahead with an additional 25% of gains if they traded their WAX out now. Or they bought WAX a couple days ago and are now using it to purchase NFTs such as Splinterlands to come out ahead by purchasing the card with less Wax today versus a week ago.
Over the pass week Hive on the other hand did not achieve similar growth as Wax.
In the past seven days Hive more or less stay the same in value although it did dip slightly mid week. The opportunity to trade Hive for Wax and back to earn more Hive is there if I had executed the trades with precision. However I am not a skill trader so like the usual I missed out on this price movement.
Move Splinterlands Assets in and out of WAX
For those who are totally new in trading Splinterlands assets for WAX here is a short tutorial as to how to get your Splinterlands items on to WAX for trade.
In Splinterlands game you have to first link your WAX wallet.
Once that is done you can go to either open tab for packs and or cards tab for selecting individual cards you wish to send to WAX. In this example we use a Untamed pack, go to open tab and "convert" to have an option to convert Untamed pack to Wax.
Select WAX and click on tokenized button. The pack will automatically move over to your Wax wallet. In less than a minute you can see the pack. I use https://wax.atomichub.io to check my Wax wallet but there are other platforms out there that does similar function of reading what is inside your Wax wallet.
To move a Splinterlands asset back to the game it is the exact same process except you select "deposit" during the converting process instead of "tokenize".
Until next time thanks for reading!!!
I have plenty of other cards for rent! Just go on peakmonsters and check out the market place and if you are curious what I offer here is a link:
