I enjoy watching Splinterlands card prices soar for cards that I own, but not the ones I do not have. In today's post I look at some specific cards that apparently has more than triple in value within the past month. This post will make readers be aware not all cards are the same and appreciate the same in value. Some cards are just simply worth holding on to for a very long time due to being highly sought after.

Gelatinous Cube

An out of print neutral tank card the Cube has slightly under 100k of cards in circulation. You would think with that many cards in players hands that the price of the card at 1 bcx would not be much. I did not and made a mistake of selling most of my 1bcx cubs about a month ago at a rate of $1.05 each only to come find now that is is way past $3 for the same thing.

Imagine trying to max level a Cube at current rates, it will be well north of $1500 at $3 x 505. That is it will be more expensive than a max level Lord Arianthus at present prices!!!

Players would think because legends at 1 bcx are worth a lot more than 1 bcx commons that it should be more expensive to max level a legend than a common. The reality is max level legends likely cost less than common due to quantity of cards to max level at different rarity cards.

The point I am trying to make is although a card that is in the common rarity does not always mean its less valuable than a legend card.

Sand Worm

As of writing this post a newer common neutral reward card than the Cube is the Sand Worm will likely be out of print in the coming hours. That is because there has been almost 400k cards won by players in reward chests, about 99.1% of the cards won. Common reward cards stop printing after it has hit 400k. The Cube already reached that mark making it an even more scarce card. Same holds true to Sand Worm as proof within the past four weeks it more than double in value.

Conclusions

I point out Cube and Sand Worm in order for others to be aware that some common reward cards are well worth to keep for the long run. I was foolish to sell most of my 1 bcx Cubes thinking the demand would not continue to push prices up. I was wrong.

I had held on to most of my alpha cards I have bought over the years and intend to save them for the long run. What I did not do was also save most of my reward cards as the price appreciation come through on all of them and extremely well for Cube and Sand Worm.

Now with Cube all ready out of print and Sand Worm is close to finish it leads us to wonder which card is next to go parabolic in price? That is a million dollar question.

At this point in time the Splinterlands assets rising as a whole has made certain cards simply be worth much more. How much higher is always a question we ask ourselves, but by giving the examples of Cube and Sand Worm I hope all readers decided to think twice before selling their cards. Instead they should be holding onto the cards for as long as possible in anticipating the individual cards can go parabolic in prices.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!
