On what promises to give me fuel to write on for several more posts (assuming I don't get a brain hemorage from reading too much stooooopidity), the POTUS gave an exclusive interview to The Sun, a British tabloid, wherein he said some pretty remarkable things. Not remarkably good. Remarkably stooooopid.

I will be taking on some of his most outrageous claims made in this interview, one at a time and over time, to allow the reader, as well as the writer, time to heal the brain scabbing reading such nonsense will no doubt cause.
Today's "Sun Interview" issue will be his claim that he is more popular than Lincoln.
Yes, President Abraham Lincoln, the writer of the Gettysburg Address, the Emancipation Proclamation and the American leader who saw the United States through the Civil War, thus ending America's tradition of legal slavery.
Here is Trump's quote:
“You know, a poll just came out that I am the most popular person in the history of the Republican Party—92 per cent. Beating Lincoln. I beat our Honest Abe.”
If Tump's assertion were true, (which, well, you know... it AIN'T), it would mean that Trump is also more popular than other famous Republicans like:
source
Eisenhower, who was the Allied Supreme Commander in WWII, as well as POTUS.
And,
source
Ronald Reagan, a near demigod to most Republicans.
But let's put those two aside for now, and consider his self-proclaimed popularity contest with Lincoln. Not only is Trump's assertion about his popularity outrageously untrue, it is impossible. Polling in Lincoln's day wasn't even a thing, as Josh Barro of Business Insider pointed out in a tweet:
In any case, beyond making himself look petty, silly and stoooopid, the POTUS' lies are pointless, yet extremely damaging. For, even the Bible warns us against such pettiness in Luke, 16:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much."
It is inevitable that one day, Trump will need us as Americans, even all citizens of the world, to trust on faith that what he says is true. But that trust and faith will have already be squandered on his self-aggrandizing, blathering and narcissistic puffery.
Congrats Trump... you did it again!
