People are funny.

Recently, a man driving down the road in Texas saw a formation in the clouds and, apparently, it was a religious experience for him. He saw a giant angel there in the heavens and determined it was a sign from god that he loves us and that everything will be alright. He shared it to Facebook and others seem to share his belief that it is a heaven sent sign of hope and assurance.

But it occurs to me that this could easily be judged by others as an image of doom. Perhaps they see a devil in the clouds or an alien. A Grey with big eyes searching for someone to probe or cattle to slaughter. One man said that he saw a praying mantis... which is easier for me to make out than the angel thing.

Personally, the thing I first saw was a traditional Cossack dancer. Maybe because of all the politics and talk of Russia over the last few years, that's what is on my mind. Tell me I'm wrong...

Anyway, I guess the point is this: we should always remember that our perceptions determine our reality. What may seem obvious and the only clear, true answer to something may be more about our personal experiences, mindset and background than anything to do with actual truth. We can all look at the same thing and still come up with completely different answers. But that doesn't mean, necessarily, that any of us are right, or that any one of us is wrong. We may all be equally right and equally wrong at the same time.

We should always try to act accordingly. But, admittedly, that's easier said, than done.
