A picture is worth a thousand words indeed, I have a particular one with me that speaks in silence for anyone who has ever carried a weight of responsibility to understand. The picture clearly shows a man walking down the street in a gray suit, his head replaced by flames and smoke. To some people, it might look absurd. But to me, it is the perfect portrait of what many men face daily.
Images from my phone screen
Every morning he wears a nearly pressed suit clean and presentable because the world respects appearance and is heading out to work. But beneath the portrait there is fire and the fire represents bills, expectations, deadlines, worries, and family. Each step the man takes is steady. But inside him, his mind burns with so many questions like; Will today be enough, will his effort pay, how would my family cope with food, my house rent is about to expire who can lend me funds till the landlord starts chasing me, my kids need to enter school.
The funniest thing is no one sees the smoke on the man's head they see the man walking with confidence along the streets in fact a successful man perhaps, what they dont see is the inner storm brewing above his head the smoke. Each day he dress cool to leave the house and he can't afford to fail, can't afford to stop, can't afford to show weakness not even once he just keep struggling the fire keeps burning his mind is clouded with lot of question, if he had to collapse just for a second it will feel like all his trying to work for just crashes right in front of him.
The interpretation of the picture:
The fire represents the drive, but also exhaustion, it is the spark that pushes him to chase opportunities to provide, to protect, to survive. Yet the same fire consumes him daily. Each spark is filled with worries rent, family needs, and career pressure it feeds the flame to avoid it from burning him inside out. Still, he has to keep walking stopping means giving in.
When I look at this picture there is something about the image that represents the tragic situation a man finds himself in each day but yet it is also powerful. It's not just about pain but a matter of endurance. Every man in that picture carries his own invisible storms like wise problems which you can't see. Some hide it behind a smile in the presence of family, others drown in silence behind closed doors where no one is looking but still yet they had to keep walking because the worlds never pause even for a second for those who burn quietly.
So yes a picture is worth a thousand words, but this one tells a silent story of men who burn, think, fight every day just to keep going to put food on the end table. I be using this medium to give respect to every man out there it not easy the picture said it all what we go through each day hoping for better days ahead the only time we had to give up is when we are dead or one foot to the grave.
