Hi Guys! It's me again masterzarlyn28 in the hive! For today's blog let's talk about Battle Mage Secrets Challenge! This time the theme is Armored up. We'll be talking about the opponents and my team line up and lastly the strategy on how I win this battle
ARMORED UP RULESET
All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
Use magic attacks, but the opponent will do the same, so focus on HP. Is countered by Rust or Wizard of Eastwood's summoner ability.
The main trick here is to use a magic monster but the opponent will do the same strategy so we need to focus on high-health power magic monsters and not shield. It's a good strategy to mixed up your team with ranged monster not just only magic since there is a possibility that the opponent team will use magic reflect summoner.
THE BATTLE
THE RULE SET
MANA CAP: 52
ELEMENTS: WATER AND DRAGON ONLY
BACK TO BASICS
Monsters lose all abilities.
Back row monsters are safe from enemy's Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity attacks. The ruleset places importance on Magic and Ranged attacks as melee attacks loose their ability to hit outside of the first position. Select monsters with high speed and choose a summoner that increases damage or defense against Magic or Ranged attacks. Lining up monsters in ascending order of their health is the way to go.
UP CLOSE & PERSONAL
Only Monsters with Melee attack may be used in battles.
Choose a summoner that increases/reduces Melee attack or Mylor. Keep a monster with Shield, Retaliate or Thorns in the first position. Reach, Sneak, Opportunity help in this ruleset.
ARMORED UP

The ruleset is quite tricky, since it is back to basic and armored up using magic monsters is an advantage in this battle but the problem is only melee monsters can be used in the battle and only dragon and water element are available. Since I don't have rent on water element I used Dragon Element. I used Delwyn with additional magic damage and I have only 1 monster with 2 damage types (magic and melee). I chose those monster with high speed, health power, and of course damage. Added also monsters with large armor so that they can stay longer in battle.
⚔️ OPPONENT'S TEAM ⚔️
The opposing team used a soulbound summoner with additional speed and also used a 2 damage type monster with 2 magic damage. The opponent's team health power and armor are also quite good but the damage is a little bit lower compared on my team.
⚔️ CARD POSITION ⚔️
FIRST POSITION
With a heal and thorn ability, Hydra serves as the tank. A helpful card for enemies who deal melee damage because they will deal thorn in return. a card that can sustain itself and heal every round. At 89 health power, it moves at a speed of 4 and deals strong melee damage. It has also an ability to retaliate wherein it can attack the montser who attacks him (only melee). It's a perfect tank for me since the ruleset is mainly on using melee monster.
SECOND POSITION
Carnage Titan, a reach ability melee monster that can attack in the second position, is one of my favorite cards. It has 3 melee damage, 3 speed, 8 health power, and 9 shield power. It also has a double strike ability, which allows it to attack twice per round and deal a total of 6 damage if successful. Another thing is thaty it has the shield ability which reduces the damaged from melee and ranged. Another advantageous card for this battle.
THIRD POSITION
**Dragon jumper is a melee monster that deals a lot of damage and moves swiftly, yet it only has 6 health power. At level 3, it has four abilities: flying, opportunity, stun and snare. This ability can avoid melee or range attacks (if the monster does not have flying ability), target the creature with the lowest health, and eliminate the opponent monster's flying ability.
FOURTH POSITION
Here is another retaliate monster monster with an astounding melee damage but a little bit slow monster. It has also a pirciong and trample ability that can be used as an advantage in this battle
FIFTH POSITION
A magic monster with flying and return fire ability. I used this as it can directly damage to health power of the opponet. It will disregard the additional armor added by the ruleset. It has a total of 6 attacks (2 magic and 4 melee damage)
LAST POSITION
Last but not least is none other than the reach monster with thorn and flying ability with 3 speed and melee damage and a huge health power of 8.
⚔️ BATTLE HIGHLIGHTS⚔️
Both magic monster are exchanging magic ball with each other and it deals a lot of damage as it directly reduces or damage health power. All the melee monster keep on attacking the tank as it is the only way to damage the opponent because of the ruleset. There are times that they missed the attack since the target monster has an incredible speed. Thorns, flying and retaliate and shields play a vital role in this battle as they have more advantage during the battle. This battle is quite close as we both have 1 monster left but thans to the other monster who help to damage Argor.
Result
Currently, I'm in the Gold League with 2447 Rating just got 22,418 RP and earned 0.614 SPS at wild league.
Indeed, my strategy worked because I played the proper cards during the battle. In this battle, I carefully used monsters with high health power, speed, damage, and armor. Aside from that I also check if it has the thorn, shield, flying, and retaliate as this ability can be used as advantage to easily kill and damage the opponent.
What will you try differently next time?
I will use another magic monster with melee damage, tank heal and also a repair ability to sustain and regenerate health and armor of my team.
