(Dahil epic ang entry ko kay @jassennessaj, haha!)
My entire journey during this year has taught me a lot of lessons that helped me become the better version of myself. Yes, becoming the better version of myself, for me, is the best thing that has happened to me during this year.
Well to start with is my month of January in which I was able to develop my leadership skill. I was anointed by the leader of our community to become the event directress during our weekly gathering. It is quite challenging for being a directress entails bigger responsibilities than I had before. But praise God, I was able to do my tasks and had lots of successful gatherings.
The month of February to be next in line has taught me to be open to people and destroy the walls I’ve built to keep my heart safe. I’m really glad someone dared to break it because he knew I’m worth it. And because the walls I’ve built had been broken, I was able to see the world in a more beautiful way. My life has been happier than before for I was able to open up myself to someone without being judged and because someone let me feel comfortable in opening up myself, I was also able to open myself to some of my friends. And I was really grateful for that because my friends know me better now and it feels more comfortable to be with them now.
March has been so awesome to me. I’ve learned how to be more grateful especially to the creator above. I have been surprised last March by the announcement that I was one of the honor graduates. Yes, I was really surprised because I really thought I have been disqualified for some reasons and so I wasn’t expecting it at all. I even cried before I knew I’ll graduate with honor because I was disappointed for the thought that I won’t be able to let my family be proud of me. But God really performs miracles. Thanks God! I was also surprised to have received my first bouquet of flower during our recognition from my suitor.
My month of April taught me how to be independent. It’s my first month of being unemployed. Haha! No more allowance from my scholarship to be received every month. I really need to work for me to survive and I’m glad I did. I had lots of gig under production and school-related works.
I’m so thankful for the gift of May. I’ve learned to trust during this month. The guy who broke the walls I’ve built before ask me to be his partner and I don’t know why but I said yes. I have trust issues before because of what happened to my parents but when he asked me to be his partner, I felt at peace. I trusted him that he won’t do anything that could hurt me. I trusted him that he will take care of my heart.
June has taught me to overcome my stage fright. It’s really my dream to sing and be a member of a music ministry but my stage fright keeps me from letting it become a reality. But thanks to some people who pushed me to go out of my nutshell and overcome my fears. They pushed me to join the music ministry and luckily I did. I felt trembling at first but because I knew I’m not singing to please anybody but to praise God, I was able to be at peace and sing the songs the way I wanted to sing them.
July taught me to be more generous. I joined in the Awesome Kid’s Ministry in our community because I really love kids but joining in the said ministry entails us to really spend out from our own pockets for their learning materials. It’s really difficult for me at first because I don’t have a stable income yet but because of the happiness I see in them every time they learn something is heart melting and so I did spend some amount of money.
August also taught me to be more adventurous. I’ve searched for ways to have an income even though I don’t have any idea of what it is all about. It is also the month when I started Steemit. I don’t really know what is it all about but I joined by the way and I even invited some of my friends to attend in the orientation/campaign held in UCLM. I have no regrets I did that by the way. :) It is also during this month that I invested in a networking company.
(sorryvain xD)
September perhaps is the toughest month for me during the entire year that’s why my greatest gift during this month is becoming tough. It is the month in which I took my board exam. On the examination day, I had dysmenorrhoea and so I wasn’t feeling well and adding to that, I got to walk on the bridge early in the morning because of heavy traffic caused by an accident. Cars can’t pass leaving us passengers no choice but to walk. And yes, I took the board exam, sick. Adding to this incident is a bad news coming from my boyfriend. This news was really devastating for me that it almost lead me to depression. Some of my trusted friends including @jassennessaj know what is it. I really had the chance to give up on our relationship but because of my friends especially God who guided me and gave me strength, I was able to endure the pain and save our relationship. I’m tougher than ever!
October taught me to be more accepting and be more forgiving. Though my trust for my partner has been broken a little during the last few days of September, I didn’t get mad at him instead I forgave him whole heartedly. I accepted his reasons without any doubt because I know deep inside him is a sincere heart begging for forgiveness. Well, I was happy that I let him stay in my life because now, our relationship is stronger than ever.
November on the other hand has taught me to be humble. This was the month of which our examination results are released. I was expecting that I would become one of the top 10 examinees but I wasn’t. I wasn’t able to be one because I was too over confident that I forgot to take my review sessions seriously and study the past lessons seriously. And when I got my examination rating, it was really close to being the top. It was indeed a humbling experience.
December is yet to end and I’m still excited on what would be my greatest gift during this month. ^_^
Well, I believe having all those lessons combined together made me a better version of myself and that is for me the best thing that has happened to me.
Be blessed! ^_^
