From onset, I have always had this strong passion for styling. This year happens to be the year for me to grow this passion to the next level. I know how to make hair, that involves braiding and weaving but I have never tried wigging until today.
Stepping out to see how Bauchi looks was what drew my attention to seeing this wig. I purchased it with the thought of visiting a stylist to help me with it.

Getting to the shop, she was busy and I needed to either wait or come back the next day. I wasn't patient enough to wait. I told her I will try to do the wigging myself and she encouraged me and promised to guide me to achieve it. I have equally seen people wigging but I have never done it until today. So straight to how and things I used.

For me, challenging myself to make the wig is self-growth and making my wig saves me more money than buying already made wigs and also I make it in a way that suits my desire. Also, wig making is a skill and that's the major reason I took the bold step to make an attempt.

STEPS I TOOK TO MAKING THE WIG
-First is the mannequin, I fix my thread in the needle. I made sure everything is around my reach.
-I positioned the wig cap on the mannequin. It is expected to be well position in the head, making sure it is well aligned.
-I started from the back to sew gradually from the nape of the wig cap, row by row and I made sure the stitch is tight and the gaps are not too obvious. I continued the procedure row by row until the end.
The final look in raw form
-After all was done, I styled the wig to my desire. Made necessary adjustment with razor to form the freshie. Being a wet wave, all I needed was water for maintenance and desired curly hair oil and lastly rock the wig with confidence.
-While making the wig, I was happy and the advice given to me was not to rush and do the sewing with patience. I was happy when I got to the center and I noticed the whole look was changing to what I needed.

To achieve the wig, I spent close to four hours to complete the wig. It was time consuming, sitting in one spot was tedious and knowing how to arrange the wigs row by row wasn't easy. My aim for this year is to enhance the skill by learning from one of the big wig producing companies. With this, I will be able to improve my skills and make for others thus using that as my source of earning.
