Ideas for mom's birthday gift (personalized and tips)| Eng/Esp

Hoy les quiero compartir uno de los regalos que le di a mi mamá el día de su cumpleaños, quise que fuera algo especial así que decidí regalarle una taza que pudiera usar a diario y tuviera algo original, así que me puse a hacerle una ilustración que representara algo de ella. Esta es una idea que también les puede servir de inspiración por si quieren regalar algo personalizado, puedes hacer tu propio diseño e imprimirlo sobre casi cualquier superficie, una taza, una camisa o hasta en un termo de agua, las posibilidades dependerán de tu imaginación ✨
Process/Proceso
I searched references of orchids because are her favorite flowers, she always bought orchids and many guides to know how to take care of them, so that was the mainly idea to draw. This type are she usually bought and the individual orchid is the emblematic flower of Venezuela, so it's a extra detail ✨. I drew them in traditional with paper and pencil and then I took a shoot of this drawing and used Illustrator to make a vectorized image.
So the first step is looking for a theme or design according on what you want to tell to the other person, if you don't have a professional program or think "you don't know how to draw" but even want to make your own design, can search for free photos on stock webs that have many free pictures for personal use like a gift. And make de editions on apps like Inshot, PicsArt, Snapseed, these are what I've used, but there is Canva that is online. And they have beautiful fonts too.
Busqué referencias de orquídeas porque son sus flores favoritas, ella siempre compraba orquídeas y muchas guías para saber cómo cuidarlas, así que fue la idea principal para dibujar. Una era la del tipo que ella usualmente compraba y la orquídea individual es la flor nacional de Venezuela, así que fue un detalle extra. Las dibujé en tradicional con lápiz y papel, luego le tomé una foto al dibujo y usé Illustrator para hacer una imagen vectorizada.
Así que lo primero es buscar el tema o diseño acorde a lo que quieres transmitirle a la otra persona, si no tienes un gran programa de edición o piensas que "no sabes dibujar" pero quieres igualmente hacer tu propio diseño, puedes buscar en las páginas de stock que tienen muchas fotos gratis que puedes usar para uso personal como un regalo. Y hacer el montaje/edición en apps como Inshot, Picksart, Snapseed, que son algunas de las que he llegado a usar, pero igualmente está Canva que es online. Y también tienen lindas tipografías.
Then I finished the flowers design I went to stablish the general design and distribution of every element, then I tried some versions and after some troubles with the program, this was the final version ☺️. I wanted something simple, one side with the name of my mom with a beautiful font and other side with shorts phrases about what represents my mom to me.
Luego de finalizado los diseños de las flores pasé a establecer el diseño y distribución de todos los elementos, luego de intentar algunas versiones y luego de tener algunos percances con el programa, está fue la versión final ☺️. Quise algo sencillo, por un lado en grande el nombre de mi mamá en una tipografía bonita y del otro lado de la taza que quedara unas cuantas frases que hablaran de lo que representa mi mamá para mi.
Then I added a background for a better composition, I tried some types of spots, like watercolour, gold, etc.
Luego añadí un fondo para una mejor composición, intenté algunos tipos de manchas, como de acuarela, oro, etc.
And what I chose was this one of pink watercolor, looking for something minimalist to not put many things on cup's design.
Y la que escogí fue esta de acuarela rosada, buscaba algo minimalista así que no quería sobrecargar el diseño de la taza.
Then I went to a shop where they print on cups with the file of the image (PNG) and this was the result, I'm very happy with this and more because is a item my mom can use every day and has her name, she liked that detail.
As extra tip I suggest to wrap on box or cute paper and you can fill it with sweets or any detail like a balloon, in my case I couldn't because I didn't have time but that was definitely what I wanted to do.
Luego fui a una tienda donde hacían impresiones sobre tazas con el archivo en formato de imagen (PNG) y así quedó, estoy muy contenta con el resultado y más porque es algo que ahora mi mamá usa todos los días y tiene su nombre, a ella le gustó ese detalle.
Como recomendación extra sugiero que lo envuelvan en una caja o papel bonito y hasta la pueden rellenar con dulces o algún detallito como un globo, en mi caso no lo pude hacer por falta de tiempo pero definitivamente era algo que quería hacer.
