Marketing Student Diary 101: Attending E-commerce Culminating Activity
A pleasant day to all! Here I am again for another blog drop. How's your weekday so far? I hope all of you are doing well. Just a little waiting time until the weekend comes, keep pushing the pedal guys鈥攜ou got this! By the way, the blog that I am going to share today is about the culminating activity I attended last January 4, 2024. So, let's get started!
The view I always witness as an early bird girlie.
Since I live kilometers away from school, I had to leave very early to avoid traffic. Sometimes it's really a struggle to beat the morning commute but as they say sacrifice now, celebrate later 鈥擨 learned to live up to this quote to this day. The program started at 8: 00 am so I arrived at school around 7: 00 am. Am I still early? I guess that is very evident of how time-conscious I am.
And then the preparation kicked in.
For this event, all fourth year BSBA students joined. We were also required to wear formal attire. So we really had the surreal feeling of belonging in the corporate world while we wear them. Before proceeding to the main venue, we had to pass by the registration area first where each student would write their name and section. It's like an attendance as well and a proof that you participated in the said event.
Now to the official venue. The lighting, the layout and the set-up were all perfectly conceptualized by the creative team. What is more special about this event was it's not just as ordinary as it is. Attending it also means we get to listen to the four incredible speakers coming from different industries sharing their wisdom to us who will soon make our entry in the real world.
Let's dive into our first speaker. He is a property specialist and a franchisee. In his talk, he highlights aspects of real estate and the realm of franchising. He shared every bit of knowledge about his expertise and those he got from his experiences. As all stories, there will always be low points and his story was not an excuse. He underwent different challenges, trial and error and failures. But what made me admire him was his courage and how he was able to rise to the occasion and emerge as the successful person he is now.
We have our second speaker. This time she talked more about the importance of knowing your own passion. And how it could lead to many good things. For her, it leads her way to open an opportunity of building her own business she named Crea- a-tive Tiffany which was founded by her own passion in the creative side.
Our third speaker then talked about the traits to possess about being a good social media influencer. He also highlights the facets on making sure you advocate for the brand genuinely before you decide to be their brand ambassador/ambassadress. But what really marked on me when he had his talk was the motivational words he said Never give up, keep striving, no matter how bumpy the road would be, always remember that God is there to guide you.
We are down to our last speaker. This time she talked about her journey into becoming a brand operator in Personal Collection. The same with the other speakers, her journey was also inspiring. She started with people not believing her but those words never let her down. Instead, she keeps going despite the negative words around her. Her courage and persistence championed her to be the successful woman she is now.
And that's a wrap! The event lasted for almost 8 hours and all I can say is 鈥攊t's truly worth my time. As I leave the event, I carry with me my grateful heart for the speakers who shared their valuable knowledge to the students and for the organizers behind the success of this event.
